After a life-long career in singing in the bath Ann has discovered to her surprise that other people enjoy her singing. The discovery was made at Lichfield Folk Festival 2000 having been taken to a singaround under the illusion that it was a singing Workshop.

Returning home from there she quickly found the local folk scene and has gone from strength to strength. Her repertoire ranges from traditional Scots songs through to pieces by modern folk songwriters.

In the Scottish vein she is currently working on a set of Burns’ Songs which will hopefully be ready for recording next year.

Ann also performs a set of songs of suffrage and as well as the quiet thoughtful ones it is impressive to watch the men of the audience joining in the ‘Battle Hymn of Women’.
Personal experience of menfolk away to war reveals itself in her renditions of songs such as ‘Mothers, daughters, wives’ and ‘The Green Fields of France’.
But life is not always gloomy and sad and a variety of Glasgow street songs can often be brought out to induce participation from the most staid of audiences.
